A Little Imp

I have a grandson who is sometimes a little imp.  Yes, that's a good word for him.

My favorite dictionary defines the word "Imp" as "A mischievous child" and that about sums it up.  Anyway, we were fortunate enough to get to visit him and his family recently.  They have a wing backed chair at their house which I find quite comfortable.  But he soon noticed it was my favorite and so it became a game to see which of us could sit in it.  If I got out of the chair you could be sure he'd be in it as soon as he could.  Anyway, I needed to go up stairs for a minute and he assured me he would not get in it while I was gone.  Yeah, sure you won't.
So as I walked across the room and started up the stairs, I looked back every few steps to see if he had gotten into the chair yet.  All the way up the stairs, I kept checking, and sure enough, he did not take the chair. Even as I went up the stairs to where I could not see him anymore, I kept looking back and he had stayed on the couch.
But, just a minute later, as I came back down, guess who was now in the chair.  And, yes, he had a huge grin on his cute little face.  What a sweetie.
