A Good Day

Yesterday we had a date day, I guess you could call it.  We ran off to temple. That was nice.  Its a bit of a drive for us so going is pretty much an all day thing but its worth it.  I have been trying to learn more about doing family history recently and had, at one point, hoped to be able to take our own names to do but that didn't work out for this trip.  Still, any day at the temple is a good day and this was no exception.

After we finished at the temple we met Erdbeere and her little boy, Townsend and had dinner. That was fun.  The place we ate at had some sculptures out front that the kids could climb on and play on.  And they sure did.  We were there and there were several other families letting their kids play on them too. Townsend had fun telling us about the colors and pointing out the toes on each.  He's growing up so fun. I thought it would be fun to lift him up on one of the other animals they had there, a lion, but Townsend was content to just stand by them and point out their features.

We spend a little time before we ate and then we went inside.  This was a new restaurant to us, none of us had ever been there before.  But it turned out to be pretty yummy.  We've been thinking it would be fun to try some Thai food the last while so that's the kind of restaurant we picked. Parking was a bit of a challenge, we ended up having to walk a little ways but that was okay. We each got something different and then there was lots of trying each others' stuff.  Well, Brombeere and I had never been to a Thai restaurant before but Erdbeere was an old pro. She knew what she liked and she knew what Townsend liked. It was a hit.  And it was close enough to the temple that we were thinking that we might have to go there again next time we're in the neighborhood.

When dinner was over we had to check out the sculptures one last time.  Then we said our goodbyes and headed for home.  It was a good day.  I'm glad Erdbeere and Townsend were free and could visit.  Our being there was kind of unexpected.  Turned out to be a bit of serendipity.  That was nice.
